We are a small in home cattery located south of Seattle, Washington.  We only have one or two litters a year, so that we may concentrate on raising healthy & well socialized kittens.  Our cats live in our home with us.  We have an outside Cottage and pen for them to safely enjoy the outdoors.  They all love to watch the birds and squirrels and occasional Blue Herron that comes to visit our pond.

 

   Avanti is an Italian word that means “to move forward or to advance”, which is what we strive for in breeding.  Our goal in breeding Bengal’s is to achieve the right balance of health, temperament and looks, according to the Bengal Standard – all qualities are of extreme importance to us –with good vibrant health and sweet outgoing loving temperaments being even more important than looks. Our cats and kittens are the centerpiece of our lives and above all, we want them to be affectionate, healthy and loved companions.

 

   The Bengal breed was developed from combining the wild Asian Leopard cat, with a domestic cat. The modern Bengal is several generations from its wild ancestors and has been bred for it’s out going and friendly disposition. Most Bengals get no bigger than an ordinary house cat, but are highly intelligent, very active and have such wonderful traits such as the ability to fetch, walk on a lead and an affinity for water. It is not at all unusual for your Bengal to jump in the bathtub or shower with you, or to play in any available water! They are very curious and desire a very high degree of attention and interaction with their humans. If you want a quiet little lap cat, then the young Bengal is NOT for you. On the other hand, if your household is very active and you have a lot of time to spend with your beloved pet(s), then we heartily recommend this breed to you! You will have never-ending stories about the escapades of your Bengal, and we will never tire of hearing about them.
